New York Takes Over Philly's House

Yo Philly Fan… the hell happened to you this weekend? Y’all pleased with yourselves? Y'all happy you let New York come make themselves at home in your home? Y'all ok with getting straight up owned by New York. Because that's what happened.

And I don’t want to hear a bunch of excuses either. Especially if your excuse is that you hate your own team. You're tired of your reigning MVP and you hate this team, yeah Philly fan, we know.

We get it, Philly fan, believe me we know. You guys don’t need to tell us you hate the Sixers, you never need to tell us you hate anything. We get it... We know you guys hate everything. And we know that includes these Sixers. 

It’s still a terrible look to get humiliated like that by the New Yorkers on national television in a massive game. I don't care how disgruntled you are Philly fan and let’s face it, when aren't you disgruntled?

Philly fan, you know I love you, and that's why I have to give it to you straight: yesterday was a straight up disgrace.

You can’t let New York get over on you like that. Do you guys even realize that this is the first time you have the Knicks in a playoff series since 1989? And they swept your asses in that series 35 years ago? This series was supposed to be revenge 35 years in the making, against your hated rivals and that hated city up the road. This series was not supposed to be about the Sixers getting abandoned in their own house and letting those psycho maniacs from New York completely take over.

I mean listen to this… listen to the F Embiid chants at Wells Fargo yesterday, except they weren’t saying F Embiid, they were really eff bombing this dude. 

Again, that's Philly. That's your house. That’s your turf Philly fan. Your turf sounded louder than 7th avenue. Your turf sounded like the home base of the Knicks fan club. 

At least those maniac Knick fans finally have a new target. They’ve been hung up on Trae Young for years, but now they’re all about F Embiid. 

I can’t believe that, and I can’t believe you let that happen Philly. I can’t believe you let New York invade your home like that. Philly fan I love you precisely because you don’t pull weak crap like this. 

We know you always hate everything but you always at least show up in person to chuck your batteries. Or to boo Santa. Or to boo your own injured players. So no, I can’t get on Joel Embiid for this take after the game:

 "I love our fans. Think it's unfortunate, and I'm not calling them out, but it is disappointing. Obviously, you got a lot of Knicks fans, and they're down the road. [But] I’ve never seen it, and I’ve been here for 10 years. Yeah, it kind of pisses me off, especially because Philly is considered a sports town. They've always shown up, and I don't think that should happen. Yeah, it's not OK."

Dude is right. It’s not ok. And it is unfortunate. And I am calling you out, Philly fan. No this season is not working out great, but you already gave up on it before the biggest game of the season.

You all watched Joel go out there and pour his heart out in Game 3 and give you 50 on a bum knee with a half drooping face. And somehow your collective response to that was eff this team, I'm not going back on Sunday. Somehow Philly, you watched Jo leave it all out there in Game 3 and then your main takeaway basically sounded like this. 

Look, I hate telling fans how to fan. But you get a lot of credit around here Philly fan. Because you typically don't pull garbage like this.

You eat fresh horsecrap to celebrate championships, you climb criscoed light poles, you hammer toss empty vodka bottles, but you don't leave teams for dead. You don't bow down to New York. You don't leave your MVP’s hanging like that.

That's minor league. That's small time. That's lil bro energy. Philly, you might think you deserve a better basketball team and a better superstar, but your actions yesterday don't back that up. Your actions yesterday say you don't even deserve the superstar you have.
